Pain & Musculoskeletal

Support for muscles, joints, tension patterns and pain that is affecting how you move, rest or get through the day.

Looking beyond the sore spot

Pain is influenced by tissue sensitivity, movement, stress, sleep, workload and the nervous system. A careful consultation helps identify what may be contributing and whether acupuncture, dry needling or another route is most appropriate.

Treatment may focus on local tender areas, related muscle groups, or points chosen to support pain modulation and relaxation.

Common reasons people book

  • Lower back pain and sciatica-type symptoms
  • Neck and shoulder tension
  • Headaches linked with muscular tension
  • Joint pain and stiffness
  • Sports or activity-related overload

Dry needling

Dry needling is a targeted approach often used for muscular trigger points and localised tension. It uses fine needles without injecting medication. It can sit alongside movement advice, pacing, recovery strategies and wider clinical care.

When to seek medical help

New weakness, numbness, unexplained weight loss, fever, trauma, bladder or bowel changes, or severe worsening pain should be medically assessed urgently. MAW Clinic will signpost onward where needed.
